Hi everyone! I'm actually a set and costume designer but I also design one of a kind beaded jewelry.I sell my designs to a few boutiques and consign them to some art galleries.I also love to make custom designs.
I have been interested in almost every part of art/design since I was 7 (mostly fashion).I was making my own paper dolls and decorating homes for them smile.gif I'll be studying interior design in a college in my area this year.I just love learning and creating new and original things which you don't see around much.
One of my biggest dreams is to work with a fashion designer and design jewelry which is gonna complete the clothes. So if there is any fashion designer who is open to that, please contact me!

Sparkle and Chosen,
First of all I really appreciate your comments! I'm very happy that you found my designs beautiful.
As you see there is so much labor there.Finding the beads and materials, putting the colors together, designing and finally making the piece actually takes so much time and effort then it seems.I believe my pieces have (especially the wire-works) very unique style.I didn't learn it from someone else or I did not copy them from other designers. And as Chosen said they are all one of a kind, so I believe my prices are okay, definetely not too high. When I hear someone saying that my pieces worth more than that or see the labor in it,I get very happy smile.gif

Hi
I've been working in the apparel industry for about 27 years. Since that is a big field, I'd narrow that down by saying most of my experience has been as a pattern maker of men's suits and men's and women's outerwear, including leather coats. I started my own pattern making business ten years ago. Through a series of coincidences, I came to write a book about the apparel industry (the entrepreneur's guide to sewn product manufacturing) which is the most highly rated book in the business. These days I keep a blog about manufacturing for designers which you can find at http://www.fashion-incubator.com .

Personally, my interests are sewing, pattern making, reading and writing. I like experimenting with bias and enjoy vintage details very much. I am 44 years old, married with one child and live in Las Cruces NM USA.

Kathleen you are very welcome here and we look forward to your posts.

For those of you who don't know Kathleen's blog it will very much appeal to those who love garment construction and are always on the lookout for perfecting methods. In particular I like the way you analyse garment techniques to the nth degree.

I just wonder Kathleen if you share a similar habit to me and lie in bed sometimes 'mentally constructing' a garment until you find the best and neatest cleanest way.

I do this a lot, I get lost for hours like this. Or, it's not even a garment per se but just a given segment of the construction. Like that nameless tutorial series. I played with that in my head for a long time before I ever committed the ###### to paper -or fabric smile.gif

Well I'll add a blog into the mix - I referenced this one before - but it's my new favorite thing:

www.theitlists.com

It's all about the must haves and it lists - a gals gotta get. I think the best part is spoon feeding the fall 2006 trends from all the magazines.

Thanks for the tips on all these other fashion blogs. Nice finds!
