Pastels are the prettiest of tints for 2012, but nude and flesh
toned pinks and cafe hues seem to be going on forever. This page
is a review of the peach, nude pink fashion looks for the summer
season of 2012.
Take nude shoe inspiration from royalty and the wife of Prince William - Catherine H.R.H Duchess of
Cambridge. Her influence has been so great that fellow royals
are following her lead. Everywhere now there are devotes of the L.K. Bennett's hidden platform high court nude shoes. So for the

Satin, Shimmer & Sequins Galore
Flesh pink has been seen on the catwalks now for several years.
Designers never seem to run out of ideas for combinations of
nude peach pink by itself or teamed with either coffee/cocoa
cream or black. We've seen it in various guise, but in
particular as underwear is outerwear or the basic tones of
palest pink flesh in the moist expensive materials to create a
lushly expensive look only rivalled by other similar colour
schemes such as winter white or cream, soft camel, or cafe au lait and taupe tones.
When pieces are beaded or sequined in such
subtle colours the garments gain extra luxury looks.

The nude trend uses an interesting selection of fabrics,
frequently involving overlays of contrasting darker lace. The
latter gives a slightly Goth vibe one the edge of being risqué.

Conversely the nude tone fashion pieces can also look ultra
expensive when worked in silks, satins, quality lace, fine
cashmere, butter soft leathers or other superior materials and
yarns.
To top off these dresses a classic collarless

day out at the races or a day to evening wedding.

Pastel Pink Nude Tone Blouses/Tops
The Miss Selfridge dress above has the look of separates. Women
with disproportionate bust to hips often prefer tops and bottoms
to dresses. There are many pastel nude and soft pink blouses
available from soft flowing romantic blouses to more structured
buttoned up shirt styles.

Prints
This year prints cover almost every possibility for surface
decoration. A veritable kaleidoscope of pattern not seen
with such vibrancy since the sixties has exploded into life. We
have large tropical flowers, English country garden
flowers, floral border prints, tribal prints, ikat prints, spots
and stripes.
In addition, traditional silk scarf patterns which
include paisley motifs and equestrian imagery are all being
used. So many of these fashion pieces use the soft colours we
associate with nude tones from fleshy peach pink to cafe au lait.

Exotic Silk Scarf Print Patterns - The horse emblem, paisley and leather hardware imagery was used on many pieces of clothing and
accessories and fitted perfectly with the history of Gucci in
its 90th year. It looks especially good in scarf print blouses.
Now you can find scarf prints across the whole spectrum of
garments including dresses and pyjama styled trousers.
The high street has their version of silk foulard styles.

These scarf prints make use of the borders associated with silk
scarf prints and they are incorporated into the garment design
and cutting.
Easy Peachy Print Dresses
For 2012 choose from tribal,
tropical or
spotted and striped prints. Massive botanical flowers and border
prints hit the right note and animal prints just go on and on
reinventing the pattern and colouration.

To round up nude colours you might need to add a top layer
such as a parka or Mac. The soft nude pinks and cafe tones make for subtle blend in
colours that are very suitable for parkas and rainwear.
